The Problem:
NFT collectors find it difficult to manage multiple accounts as well as connecting with and building relationships with other NFT enthusiasts in the shared hobby of NFT collecting
Solution:
NFT Decor was designed to give users an exceptional and adaptable way to display their NFT collection in a virtual environment that they can interact with their friends and on social media

MY ROLE: UX/UI designer (group Project)
TOOLS: Figma/Figjam, paper, pencil
Interview Plan
We planned and conducted 5 interviews with potential users who owns NFTs. In order to create a social network where users can decorate their room with their personal NFT collection, we analyzed the user pain points and insights. In one-on-one interviews, it became evident that users' primary concern revolved around their desire to showcase their NFTs but lacked a more suitable platform for doing so.

Feature Prioritization Matrix

We did away with the blindbox aspect and narrowed our focus down on NFT collectors that wanted to display their items. The purpose of the app became geared towards those that want to have a fun way to show off what they own to others to be able to appreciate and speak to each other about NFTs they have acquired.

User Insight
Users need to find a more preferable way of interacting with other NFT collectors because finding a community to belong to is challenging.
How might we create a welcoming space that promotes socializing?
Users need to gain access to a method for displaying any and all NFTs in their collection because showcasing their items is enjoyable for the interactions that can be had in discussing them to anyone who takes interest

How might we ensure users have a unique way to express their collection while making sure they have access to all their NFT items/wallets?
Insight Statement: We believe providing an app that promotes socialization between users through a unique and interactive NFT display method will make a more welcoming and enjoyable NFT collecting community.
Problem Statement
NFTDecor was designed to give users a unique and customizable method to display their NFT collection with other collectors and social media platforms. We have observed that users that have used apps in the past related to NTFs, find it difficult to manage multiple accounts as well as connecting with and building relationships with other users in the shared hobby of NFT collecting , which is causing frustration in ease of displaying their collection as well as a decline in socializing between NFT enthusiasts. How might we create a welcoming space that promotes socializing while also ensuring users have a unique way to express their entire NFT collection so that users are successful based on the amount of social interaction they gain through the use of our app?

Our organization NFTDecor is developing a NFT display app to help NFT collectors solve the problem of not having a sociable or unique way of displaying their collection to other people and fellow NFT enthusiasts.
We’re better because we provide users with access to any and all NFTs they own to be displayed thorough the app in one convenient location.
We’re believable because relationship building for users along with their freedom of expression is our top priority.
Style Tile

We gravitated towards a futuristic cyber punk inspired aesthetic with dark backgrounds and neon colors for popping contrast along with three dimension icons that changed perspective when interacting with them.
The hope was to implement 3D objects into our prototype that were interactive with full 3 dimensional rotation but accomplishing that was more challenging than we thought. It was possible through frame by frame animation through button interaction to have a pseudo 3d interaction but it would have needed excessive clicking. Another option that I thought of and shared through some testing with the group was 2D isometric rooms that i was inspired by from a game i remembered playing as a kid (Megaman Battle Network) in which the art direction for the game had all levels and areas as floating isometric rooms with animated backgrounds.

Key Learning From User Tests
-
Navigation bar icons are unclear because there’s no text indicating the function of the CTA

2. Need something to indicate that user can scroll over to see more on the
Decoration Mode page

3. User believes she should be aware of that the next step of logging in is
upload collection

4. User would like to see a notification showing up on the navigation bar so that
she knows that there is a friend request

Final Thoughts
If we had more time, we want to develop more features like:
-
3D rooms that you can rotate angles
-
Customizable avatar
-
Interaction with NFT (ex: sitting on a chair nft)
Reflections:
I had fun with this project and learned more about NFTs and i started with barely any knowledge of them. I also got to learn some more things in Figma like animated backgrounds. I would like to learn more about Spline for 3D integration to be able to implement interactive 3D elements into the design.
